Friendships

As time has gone on and I have mellowed (some of you are saying an "Amen" to that one...you know me so well and for so long) I have made a decision. I choose to love and accept my "sisters and brothers" for who they are. I choose to embrace their personalities, good and not so good traits and all! Good friendships are too rare to give away. I will love the people around me even when I don't agree with their actions or thoughts. I choose not to be offended by people being people. People are not perfect, only God is! He will not disappoint. What has brought me to this decision? Over time I have realized that I am not so easy to get along with. I know, that may shock some of you!! ;) I have a "bit" of an "A" personality that can be seen as harsh to some. Especially those who are more sensitive. (My husband being one of the sensitive ones, poor man.) I now make a point to have conversations with friends about this. It may seem weird but, it has proven to be a great conversation piece. It is the kind of conversation that people appreciate but don't know how to start.

How big is our God?

Do you know the answer? Deep in your heart? Really? What fears grip your heart when you are tired, frustrated, hurt, etc? Do you know that God has you safely in His arms? When I say "know" I am not talking of a head knowledge. I am talking of a deep in the depths of your heart knowledge. I tell you, this is a question God is asking me also. But I choose to claim victory in Christ Jesus. I will NOT let the devil steal my joy or my peace! I WILL NOT! My God is bigger and more mighty than all my "issues". I have victory in Jesus!
"The Lord by wisdom founded the earth;
by understanding He established the heavens;
by His knowledge the depths were broken up,
and clouds drop down the dew.
My son, let them not depart from your eyes -
keep sound wisdom and descretion;
so they will be life to your soul and grace to your neck.
Then you will walk safely in your way,
and your foot will not stumble.
When you lie down, you will not be afraid;
yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
Do not be afraid of sudden terror,
nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;
for the Lord will be your confidence,
and will keep your foot from being caught."
Proverbs 3:19-26
Living in victory!

Lord, help me!

By the way...I am not going to drink soda anymore! Lord, help me!
Friends, keep me accountable! (I said nothing about coffee...)

"It's All True!"

I have got to tell you...I went to the Beth Moore Conference in Laramie this weekend. So fantastic! It was wonderfully deep. No milk fed, steak and potatoes is what we had!

Our text was Psalm 66. It will be difficult to describe the depth at which the Lord touched my heart and the hearts of those in that arena. I am certain that those 2500 ladies (& a few men) were challenged to run a race worthy of our Lord, to FOCUS on what it takes to become the person of God we are meant to be, to stay in our own lane-not try to be like others, to praise the Lord with our whole hearts-loudly, to live lives that are pure and free from addictions and sins, and that we need to follow through with the promises we made to God. (Wow, what a long sentence!) On top of it all I have found a new drive to share my love for the Lord with my girls more clearly and directly. Speaking to them of the things He has done in my life. My focus is to do all I can to help my girls find a passion for the Lord that is their own and comes from a deep place in their hearts! This is all supported with the FACT that God's love is loyal, that He will never leave me nor take His mercies from me! All that God says He is, IS TRUE!!!
"Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth!
Sing out the honor of His name; make His praise glorious.
Say to God, How awesome are Your works!
Through the greatness of Your power
Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.
All the earth shall worship You and sing praises to You;
they shall sing praises to Your name.
Come and see the works of God;
He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men.
He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot.
There we will rejoice in Him.
He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations;
do not let the rebellious exalt themselves.
Oh, bless our God, you peoples!
And make the voice of His praise to be heard,
who keeps our soul among the living,
and does not allow our feet to be moved.
For You, O God, have tested us; You have refined us as silver is refined.
You brought us into the net; You laid affliction on our backs.
You have cause men to ride over our heads;
we went through fire and through water;
but You brought us out to rich fulfillment.
I will go into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows,
which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken when I was in trouble.
I will offer You burnt sacrifices of fat animals,
with the sweet aroma of rams;
I will offer bulls with goats.
Come and hear, all you who fear God,
and I will declare what He has done for my soul.
I cried to Him with my mouth,
and He was extolled with my tongue.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear.
But certainly God has heard me;
He has attended to the voice of my prayer.
Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer,
nor His mercy from me!"
Psalm 66 (New King James Version)
In the name and power of Jesus!
