More on the Rock...

It seems that God is driving in the point to me... He is the Rock. This doesn't just mean that He is my shelter, He is the shelter for the person behind me in line, my coworkers, my friends, the gal behind the coffee counter. It is too easy to go about the day just worrying about what I am doing next and not about what God is doing next. How is He going to use me today? Whose life will He touch through me? We need to walk everyday in the thought of "What treasure to You have for me today? How do You want to help someone today? How can I "love on" someone in Your name?" Lord, use me today to touch those around me. Let me be a testimony to Your greatness. Let others see the Rock on which I stand and be encouraged by that today!

"My soul, wait silently for God alone,
for my expectation is from Him.
He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; I shall not be moved.
In God is my salvation and my glory;
the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, you people;
pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us!" (exclamation point mine)

The Rock

I am so very thankful that the Lord is a ROCK! He is a safe place to fall, rest and find comfort. Life on this earth can really stink sometimes and sometimes it is downright awful. But, I find solace in the fact that my God is a solid rock on which I can stand (hold on to, cling to). Thank you, Lord, for loving me so much that you sent your Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in order that my sins can be forgiven! You have saved me, dear Lord.

"Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
when my heart is overwhelmed;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a shelter for me,
a strong tower from the enemy.
I will abide in Your tabernacle forever;
I will trust in the shelter of Your wings."
